SAN DIEGO — To impress more than 1,100 sorority sisters, PSAV’s team at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina transformed a white tent into an eye-catching formal dinner affair for Pi Beta Phi’s Biannual National Convention.
Working with a space that was used almost exclusively for exhibit halls, the team was tasked with the challenge of transforming a large plain area into a festive space with different themes on each of the four nights. To accomplish this, the PSAV crew used more than 30 Mac 700 profiles, gobos and other elements to embellish the entire area.
“Overall, the client was thoroughly impressed with the way we transformed a ‘boring, plain tent’ into a festive meal room for her attendees,” said PSAV Project Manager Kellen Holt. “Each day of the conference, I would visit the space to draw up three to four looks to show to the client and each day, we received remarks of excitement from the client and her staff. She also commented on the audio, saying it was the ‘best sound we’ve ever had for the dinner programs.’ In the end, we delivered a wildly successful event and thoroughly impressed the client.”
