OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Earlier this month, PSAV team members enthralled more than 400 Kiewit employees with its embellishment of the 60,000-square-foot space at the Overland Park Convention Center.
The PSAV Team was tasked with the challenge of impressing the client at an off-site event at a complex they hoped to win in the near future.
“From the moment our trucks rolled into the dock, the facility was watching how well we performed under pressure,” said PSAV Assistant Director of Event Technology Bryan Huber. “The most important part of the event were the General Session and the breakout sessions that occurred before the holiday party. If those events were flawed, the holiday party would have meant nothing.”
The group rose to the challenge, hauled in team members and gear from five other PSAV locations and executed the event without a hitch.
Throughout the event, PSAV team members kept the clients calm during the frantic room changes while working quickly and efficiently to set up the holiday party.
Twelve technicians in 12 hours set up 144 LED lights, 22 intelligent fixtures, 40 Lekos, 20 PARs, more than 480 feet of truss, a Jands Vista S2, two snow machines and a white voile drape to create a breathtaking set that radiated the holiday spirit.
“It was truly a sight to behold,” said Huber. “The clients were blown away with the set-up and you could see all the attendees were completely amazed with the set.”
The clients and attendees were so captivated by the setup, that flashes of their cameras were prevalent throughout the night.
Following the holiday party, the client exclaimed that the event was amazing, far better than anything they’ve done in the past, and they only want to use PSA Vmoving forward.
