ORLANDO—This month, 22 PSAV technicians from the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico were on a mission to receive their CM-ET certification at the company’s annual CM-ET Certification Class here.
The hands-on two-day ETCP Recognized Training Course covered all aspects of rigging, including design and operation on hoists, maintenance needs, inspection requirements, and troubleshooting. The course also delved deep into electrical theory and troubleshooting of the popular Lodestar and Prostar hoists.
In order to receive their certification, the students were tested on their knowledge of the ASME B30.16, and CM Lodestar and Prostar Maintenance, repair and inspection procedures.
After the completion of the two-day course the employees attended a one day class, where they were instructed how to inspect, load test, store records, and maintain chain hoists annually.
“I am happy to say the majority of the class scored above 90% on the exam,” said PSAV VP of Rigging & Power Services Todd Spencer. “PSAV will continue to invest in educating its employees and I look forward to doing this again next year.”
