LONG BEACH, Calif. – June 13, 2012 – The Silver Telly Council recently recognized the Creative Services Digital Media team of PSAV® Presentation Services by presenting it with nine Telly’s at the prestigious 33rd Annual Telly Awards. Coming off a four-win performance in 2011, the PSAV team walked away with two Silver awards — the highest acclaim — and seven Bronze awards in 2012. The Tellys honor the very best in film and video production; online videos, programs and commercials; and local, regional and cable TV commercials, programs and segments. With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.

PSAV is an event technology provider in the hospitality and event planning industries. Partnering with hotel, resort, conference center, convention center and other properties where meetings and events occur, PSAV is the preferred, onsite provider of audiovisual support and event production at more than 800 locations worldwide. The company also operates regional branch offices/warehouses that provide key end-user clients with the services and equipment for meetings and events that do not take place at a PSAV-partnered location.

The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

A prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. “The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “PSAV’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

Clean Sweep
PSAV honors included a clean sweep of an original four-part mini documentary-style series produced for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Wins for the series, produced and directed by Eric Benson and co-produced by Audrey Williams, included: two Silver Tellys for the pictures Able to Run, and Sent to Save, along with two Bronze Tellys for Good: The Enemy of Great , and A Perfect Day. Benson said of these shows, “Good stories attract audiences, anything else is just dressing up. The power of un-scripted storytelling is real, and has the ability to touch and inspire the audience. Our mini-series does precisely that.” In addition, motion designer Jekris Certeza received Bronze accolades for his animated videos Wounded in Action and Orthoportal , also produced for the AAOS.

PSAV’s suspense-thriller, Scarred, starring Matt Burch from TruTv’s Operation Repo, premiered as one of the featured presentations at the American Academy of Neurology’s 3rd Annual Neuro Film Festival . The film netted two Bronze Tellys for both cinematography and editing. The original story was adapted to screen by PSAV’s Digital Media Specialist Audrey Williams, the film’s co-producer in conjunction with executive producer and producer, PSAV’s Digital Media Producer Eric Benson. “Without a moving story, cinematography and editing mean very little. The age-old adage ‘story is king’ rings true in our film Scarred, an engaging motion picture about the struggles of living with the debilitating disease Multiple Sclerosis,” Williams said.

PSAV’s broadcast PSA, Ask Your Mom, starring Josh Blue from NBC’s Last Comic Standing, also produced for the AAN earned a Bronze win.

“It is extraordinary to attain a Silver Telly, and earning two silver awards, two years in a row, is a true honor and a testament to the talent and professional service that
PSAV provides to its customers,” said Christian Wright, PSAV’s director of digital media. “Our years of real-world knowledge from producing thousands of events and meetings each year, combined with the most seasoned technicians in the industry, delivers an unforgettable experience every time. Earning these awards gives PSAV the staying power to keep them among the industry elite, along with media and showbiz moguls including the likes of NBC Universal, History, E!, Discovery, FOX, BRAVO, and AMC. We could not be more pleased.”
