Star Power in Canada

TORONTO—PSAV teamed up with The Westin Harbour Castle and rolled out the red carpet for the 32nd Annual Genie Awards here.

Much like the Academy Awards in the U.S., movie stars filled the hotel ballroom for a night of awards and entertainment.

PSAV provided the power distribution for this event, which consisted of 40 motors, one 400-amp service for lighting, one 400-amp service for the ceremony’s high definition mobile truck, one 200-amp service for projectors, and a multitude of lighting.

Although the team received a last-minute challenge of providing finding additional truss to compensate for the ones that were the wrong height provided by the production company, the team overcame the hurdle and quickly found ten pieces of 10-foot truss to hold up the ceiling in the red carpet area.

At the end of the program, the client expressed their gratitude and remarked that they felt welcomed by the PSAV team and the hotel staff and the team truly understood their event.

“The entire team all worked in unison to provide a seamless event and that put the clients and producers at ease,” said PSAV Assistant Director of Event Technology.
