Washington State Convention Center Names PSAV® Presentation Services Preferred Event Technology Provider

Due to its expansive portfolio of presentation technologies and worldwide expertise, PSAV® will support the largest meeting/expo facility in the state

SEATLE – March 15, 2012 – Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) has selected PSAV® Presentation Services as the facility’s preferred onsite provider of event technologies. The partnership, which began on March 1, will bring unprecedented services and support to event planners and tradeshow organizers from around the world.

PSAV is the leading supplier of audiovisual services and event technologies to hotels, associations, producers and meeting planners worldwide. WSCC, located at 800 Convention Place in downtown Seattle, features 236,700 square feet of exhibit space and 123,761 square feet of flexible convention and meeting space.

“We are extremely excited about our new relationship with PSAV,” said Ed Barnes, WSCC Vice President of Operations. “PSAV is bringing a new range of presentation services and event technologies to our facility that previously was not available from a single source. PSAV’s equipment and extensive services includes a variety of screen solutions, HD video conferencing, digital interactivity and mobile device deployment, like the development of dedicated meeting apps. Giving attendees the opportunity to use their iPads, iPhones or other smart devices to access important event data, such as the conference agenda, speaker listing, event sponsors, a
virtual facility map and a listing of offsite venues, will enable event planners to turn ordinary events into unforgettable experiences. Seattle is a multi-faceted city,” Barnes said. “In addition to its many attractions and beautiful natural setting, we are fortunate to have several iconic corporations, such as Amazon, Boeing, Microsoft and Starbucks right in our backyard. Therefore,
it’s critical to deliver on customer expectations. PSAV not only provides the ideas and the technology that inspire great events, but their people are meticulous in executing a flawless event, whether it’s for 50 or 5,000 people.”

Michael McQuade, WSCC Director of Sales and Marketing, added, “We had been aware of PSAV for many years and were extremely impressed with the relationships they had built with many of our national and local clients. During the RFP process, PSAV demonstrated a wide array of services outside the typical audiovisual equipment offering. Because we host large national and international conventions
and trade shows for health and medical, legal, scientific, engineering and technology organization, being able to offer state-of-the-art presentation technologies is critical in meeting and exceeding customer demand. PSAV has everything our clients want and then some.”

PSAV combines an unbeatable breadth of technology and expertise right on staff, with concepts and ideas that can make any event more engaging, more memorable and more successful. Because PSAV’s technicians reside onsite at the WSCC, they are able to offer more service and more know-how more quickly.

“The services offered by PSAV are an integral component to any meeting or trade show at WSCC,” said Shannon Trujillo, Regional Vice President of Sales for PSAV. “We bring bright ideas, smart technology and successful events to the table. And, just like the Washington State Convention Center provides its event planners with a single point of contact, PSAV too has a dedicated event technology expert consulting and working side-by-side with each group to ensure a memorable experience.

“As convention centers continue to be the preferred choice for local and national events alike, PSAV is growing too,” Trujillo said. “Our people and resources are in more major markets than anyone else, with 35 branch offices and 600 hotel locations across the United States and 800 locations around the globe in 10 countries. We are delighted to have been selected as the preferred partner for WSCC, and we look forward to working with the best and brightest planners and producers in the country as they bring their events to Seattle.”
