PSAV Aiding in Downtown Las Vegas Revitalization, Supporting Events that Attract Meeting Planners and ‘Wow’ Participants

PSAV® Presentation Services partners with MEET Las Vegas, the Plaza Hotel and Casino, and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health to electrify events

Las Vegas, February 28, 2012 – With Downtown Las Vegas transforming into a truly pedestrian and self-sufficient model community attracting big businesses and upscale young businesspersons, it’s become an ideal destination for meetings and events of many types and sizes. Today, three of the leading downtown venues, MEET Las Vegas, the Plaza Hotel and Casino, and the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, are relying on PSAV® Presentation Services to make each meeting more engaging, memorable and meaningful. By combining consultation, inspiration and imagination with the latest in video and projection, creative lighting, soundscapes, set design and staging, PSAV is delivering experiences that planners and participants will never forget.

PSAV is the leading supplier of audiovisual services and event technologies to hotels, associations, producers and meeting planners worldwide. The company provides an unparalleled range of event technology and with more than 800 partner locations worldwide.

“Las Vegas is the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World,’ and when people come here for an event, whether it’s a social gathering or a corporate convention, they expect to be ‘wowed’ and anticipate a memorable experience, ” said Shannon Trujillo, Regional Vice President of Sales for PSAV. “Meeting planners want the same thing; they want their event messaging to transcend the conference and become something their audiences talk about for years to come. The event facilities at MEET Las Vegas, the newly renovated Plaza Hotel and
Casino, and the KMA Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health are spectacular, and as such, making meetings memorable at each of these venues comes easy, ” she said. “It’s not solely our technology that incites the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ from attendees, but instead it’s the network of people behind our technology and those we partner with at each facility that is helping to put Downtown Las Vegas back on the map as a viable meeting destination. We couldn’t be more pleased to work with each of these venues, and we are confident that once event planners experience what each facility has to offer, they will bring their meetings back again and again. ”

PSAV Helps Keep Memories Alive
The Keep Memory Alive Event Center is located in Symphony Park™, a cultural and science development in Downtown Las Vegas that resides within the Frank Gentry-designed
Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health facility. The Center opened in 2009 as a highly specialized clinical center designed to advance the research, early detection and treatment of neurological diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis.

” The Keep Memory Alive Event Center is dedicated to creating memories for those who attend or host personal events, such as weddings, business meetings and celebrations of life, with proceeds from Event Center rentals going to KMA and its ongoing support of research and treatment for neurocognitive disorders, ” said Gina Sinclair, KMA Hospitality Project Manager at the Event Center. “Since the facility opened in 2009, we have had the good fortune to have PSAV serving as our inhouse event technology partner. The synergy between KMA and PSAV is uncanny. Independently we work to build memories, and together we produce memorable events.

“No matter what the function is, whether it’s a corporate meeting, a bat mitzvah, graduation party or wedding, PSAV is by our side, consulting with our customers to make sure their event is magnificent, ” Sinclair said. “Our building is a work of art and we are proud to say that the events we produce with the help of PSAV are works of art as well. PSAV is not your typical AV company that sets up lights and leaves. Their on-site technicians are an extension of our facility and our family. The team’s creative ideas allow our customers to not only create a memory here at our facility, but they help to preserve that memory long after the party is over. We couldn’t be more pleased with their customer service, creativity and the technology they bring to every event. They are truly the Rolls Royce of audiovisual partners. ”

MEET Las Vegas is equally as pleased with PSAV’s performance. The 30,000 square foot, three-floor facility is a unique event and meeting venue located on South 4th Street in the heart of the Downtown district. “MEET Las Vegas never compromises the brand impact of events with its own messaging,” said Angela Roberts, MEET Las Vegas VP of Sales and Catering. “At
MEET, planners and participants are never distracted by the sounds of slot machines or the branding typical of a megaresort. Their event is personal the moment they arrive.

“PSAV expertly uses our built-in technology and rigging infrastructure to transformboth our interior and exterior space into an environment unique to each party or event, ” Roberts said. “With PSAV, the sky really is the limit. We couldn’t be happier with their service, their staff or their expertise, and our customers are equally as delighted. ”

Business Sharing
MEET Las Vegas works closely with the Plaza Hotel and Casino, the largest event facility in Downtown Las Vegas, to refer overflow business especially when overnight accommodations are required. The 1,003-room facility recently completed a $35 million propertywide renovation.

“The Plaza Hotel and Casino was closed for a year due to our extensive renovation, and when we reopened in the fall of 2011, we transitioned in PSAV, ” said Janeen Zook, Plaza Las Vegas
Sales Representative and Director, Global Accounts with HelmsBriscoe. “With our conference season just beginning, we are thrilled to have PSAV in house and their technicians by our
side. ”

In the few short months that we’ve worked with PSAV, we have come to rely on their expertise, ” she said. “Their professionalism with our customers is amazing, and their in-house technicians have been integral to helping us close new contracts as we sit down and pre-plan functions. The events they have produced for us were spectacular, and our customers were extremely impressed with the production and caliber of each event. ”

As the economy continues to improve and more and more companies and organizations regain confidence in booking meetings, Zook said she is confident that Downtown Las Vegas will become a highly coveted event destination.

In recent years meeting planners have been hesitant to commit to large events due to the economy, but it’s really beginning to turn around, ” Zook said. “Those who are scheduling meetings are doing so with a shorter booking window than in the past. Thankfully with PSAV as our in-house partner, we are able to accommodate any request, even those booked last minute, and know with complete confidence that it will receive flawless execution. “
